Poetry Umbrellas
THE SEATTLE TIMES, MONDAY 7 July
I felt the community I'd gone out, just 2 short years ago, to find. It was very much alive. And wonderful & real. Lovely to see you all again & remember what was so meaningful (& difficult) about the project. Thank you!! I'll be back. Soon.

I love what you did! Your umbrellas were inspiring.
This is one of the girls who rescued the last three umbrellas yesterday evening...I was with my boyfriend and my fiery red-headed best friend. I had two questions: First off, I was wondering if you could e-mail me the photo you have of us, and secondly, I was so in love with the poem that was on my umbrella but forgot what it was called; is there any way you can possibly help me figure out which one it was? That would be so wonderful! One of the lines was "such a purple passed me by" (at least I think that's what it was...my memory sometimes fails me). My e-mail address is Rainbo_sherbert@msn.com.
Also, I'm an aspiring poet myself and love anything and everything to do with bringing poetry to the people. If there's anything I can ever help with or be involved in, let me know?
Thanks so much!
Kristen
Hello Poetess at Green Lake -
My wife and I were frequent visitors to your desk, and I dropped by late in the evening but was still able to catch the Poetry Umbrellas with my sister.
My wife and I are expecting our first child this fall, and are hoping that next summer will once again bring poetry to Green Lake.
Thank you!
